On the back side of the engine where the oil filter is above the CV axle.

look at the sensor, if the green plug is wet with oil, its leaking, if its dry its not leaking, that simple.

thing that the wrench is on is the sensor.

So to tighten that up if it needs it I'm going to need to remove the oil filter and unplug the connection

are you blind? theres a pic with a wrench on the sensor and the oil filter on the car.

DONT NOT MAKE IT TIGHTER THAT WILL ONLY BREAK THE HOUSING. if its leaking take it out, then replace it, you may notice the threads are tapered aka get fatter, if you install the new one and make it any tighter then snug, you'll be looking for a new housing cause it will crack.

new sensor has thread sealant on it, you pretty much stop when your 1/2 way into the sealant on the threads.

Is there a way to tell if it's cracked the previous owners were idiots. When I bought the car the oil filter was to tight spark plugs were barely hand tight, my 4 year old could twist them out, and the oil drain plug had no gasket

The type of thread Scotty is referring to is called National Pipe thread and it is tapered as he stated. The sending units usually leak at the connector. I had one actually blow the connector out of the socket and it caused my oil light to come on. I actually had to pull over on the side of the road because I was afraid that something catastrophic had happened. The sender isn't as easy to access with the wheel on (at least on the Park Ave). I wasn't able to find a replacement and ended up using a 1/4" NPT plug with Teflon tapeuntil one came in. So if you crack the hosing on the new sender you can use a plug if you have to.

Remember: When adding Teflon tape to a fitting wrap in the clockwise direction so it doesn't unravel on you when you try install the fitting.

OK well it only seems to leak on long trips hour or more. I'm home now so I'll take it to the on post car shop and put it on a lift so I can get the tire off and stand under it to see if I maybe able to take pics or a video of the leak or if find it I can let everyone know
