    On the metal subframe.

This is a aluminum subframe but you get the picture, yours will be steel.

The front is closest to the ground, jack it up on the beam that runs across.

Right in the center of the front of the frame. Its a few inches behind the air deflector and you'll almost need to have your head on the ground to visually confirm correct placement because its so low and so close to the core support which is just sheetmetal.
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.

i set the jack cup right over the sub frame bolt.

if you need the whole front lifted up and have a good jack, you set the jack dead center of the front part of the sub frame and lift it up.

Same here. I think I have the same jack as you SCOTTYDOGS. Is that from harbor freight? and have the foot pump on it as well.

yeah, that a a HF 3 ton job. with rapid pump, not that i see anything rapid about it.

my last tire rotation, one jack method, pretty much 3 wheels are off the ground, its all on the jack and the back wheel. jacked form the sub frame bolt as shown in the other pic.
