Yeah dont panic , those elbows are a common to brittle and break use some needle nose pliers to get the plastic out. Make sure to replace them with some aluminum ones from the parts store they should be in Dorman section.

Thank you! the needle nose did the trick, however I've run into another problem. I put everything back together, water pump, alternator, serpentine belt, I reconnected the battery and tried to start the car, but the battery was completely dead. I jump started the car and the alternator was charging everything just fine. I got home and turned off the car and tried to start it again but the battery was dead immediately. I've since put a charger on it hoping that it fixes the issue, have you ever heard of a battery being killed by this repair job? I had the battery unplugged for about two days while doing the repair, could that have caused this?![]()
