Been a long time owner of a 97 gt now got a 98 gtp. Drove it back 60 miles with bad maf sensor. replaced that and all is good. Well when driving back il be doing 65 and rpm will jump and loose power. I believe that is fixed cause the maf. I said tht because it might be a tranny prob I think? Later in the day I drove it around the house on the road where I know if I break down I'm close by, tthat being said I floored it just to see how it is. It died after I let off gas. Ever sense then it's been having problems moving. it goes in gear on the dash but that's it. You hear it wine a little. Moves a little. I Came to find out the fluid was just about dry!!! I refilled and not moving now. I noticed on hills where I stop it starts to roll a Lot too. So guys new tranny? I'm in ny upstate.

re check the fluid see if its full still. does it leak on the ground? it had to go some where, trannys dont burn fluid. if its low its leaking one way or another.

    It moves at 3000 rpm. R d 123.
Now I have on level service added more fluid drive normal. Put a sheet under to see if it leaks

Think an axle might be pulled out a little causing it to not engage? I had a similar...not an exact issue, and it was a loose axle.

how many miles? has it ever been serviced? hows the fluid look and smell? it dark and stinky? maybe the filter is clogged up. if you hear the tranny whining.

Well I am driving it now. it's okay. Still it hickups definatly is tranny issue. Yu can feel it. Ik there a leak cause you can smell trany fluid. Think it's a tranny line that runs up front? Cause under car passenger side by radiator is wet

I would stop driving it before it shizzes out on you. Are you sometimes feeling it jerk when putting it in gear? Better a minor repair now than a major one by driving it. Can't be your CV if you are driving it now.

Cooler line, I believe. You can rig it with hose and clamps.

Yeah, same thing. It's a metal pipe. If that is what it is, it's a cheap part. Under 50 bucks. I just rigged mine in the Cadillac a few months ago. It's still holding up.

So I wounder If I fix that line so it'd keep fluid in there it'd be fine to drive. Have to wait n see. Hope I didn't burn the tranny. What's a easy way to get at the line? There's upper n lower ?

you have to find the leak area first, then watch it and figure out whats leaking, then address it. brake cleaner cleans stuff up good.

it could be the rad is leaking or the line is busted through, or where the rubber meets the metal line.

If it's leaking in that area, scotty is right, either the fittings on the rad or the metal lines themselves. If just the bottom of the line is rusted (which is usually where it leaks) you could cut it out and hose clamp some cooler line in between, or just buy new cooler lines. Rock auto sells them at a pretty good price.

I agree with new cooler lines. Cheap and easy to fix depending on corrosion on the bottom fitting. We did ours in an afternoon.

You could, since that bottom air dam is in the way at the bottom part. Honestly you could just remove the 3 10mm bolts and it can get pushed down while still attached to the bumper, and you will have enough room to get the old ones out and slip the new in.
