Based on just that info it sounds like it could be a TCC solenoid. Any other symptoms? Is the check engine light on?
No, the check engine light is not on. I just went ahead a cleaned the spark plug wires that are connected to the coil pacs they were rusty and the wires where lose, so I cleaned them and know I'm going to see what will happen. I also bought some fuel injector cleaner, but like i said I hope the cleaning of the wires that are connect to the coil pac will help. I'll keep everybody up to date on the issue with my baby.
If the wires were rusty, it would probably be a good idea to replace them. Are the coils rusty?
if the screen to the maf is that dirty, the maf hot wire is probably coated with crud. Maf cleaning spray never works.
when coasting to a stop with the throttle plate closed. air to keep the engine running goes through the iac. if the throttle plate is dirty the iac must open further to allow more air to pass.
yes, clean the throttle body. check the iac valve and maf sensor.

Cynthia, many times we see this type of behavior from needing a tune up/maf sensor etc starting to go bad. There's a few different things that can be tested.
Where in Mass are you? I know there's a bunch of us that are around and sometimes seeing the car do it is much easier to diagnose from.
Im in mass, like bill said where are you located.
I leave near Springfield Ma. I'm going to see what happens since I've cleaned the wires and plugs to the coil pac and the maf screen so I'm hoping that's all it is, I can only reach three of my spark plugs,I'm not going to take a chance right now to deal with the spark plugs if they are to rusty don't want anything to fall into the motor. I do have a regular mechanic his awesome but can't afford to do a total tune-up. I will check the iac valve and the sensor to the maf. I'm so thank full for people to help me out.
