Hey guys I'm new to the forums and I'll apologize in advance because I'm sure this question has been asked countless times but here it goes: I recently ordered a K&N CAI for my 02 GTP and I'm also planning on installing the following:
    •PCM
    •180 t stat
    •Colder spark plugs

What is the smallest pulley size I could run without any engine problems AKA best performance for my car? I'm shooting for the most HP I can get. Thank you!

Honestly I wouldnt even do the other mods you listed, you won't gain anything.

Stock 195 thermo is best, running colder plugs on a stock car will just reduce mpgs slightly and you want to run the hottest spark you can for the given mods.

Getting a different PCM won't help much as the stock tune is fine as it is. It already runs rich and will handle basic mods without any adjustments.

The real issues are flow, as in exhaust flow. Like an upgraded downpipe and or just buying headers to reduce engine knock and gain some HP and make things safe.

So you can't drop pulley sizes right now, you'd just be hurting the motor and likely someday looking for a use long bock to throw back in it after a piston or 2 dies.

Your going to need more mods then what you originally posted if you want to run a smaller pulley safely.

Take your time and read this...

Let it breathe before bringing more air in.

    Maintenance.

    Then suspension...because it sucks.

    Then brakes...because they suck.

    Then exhaust...because it's designed crappy.

Then whatever else. Probably transmission because it sucks.

dont forget they wanted it to be front wheel drive. If these cars were rear wheel drive then it would have been better.
