Holy sh##. When I was attaching the negative battery cable (Harness to battety) there was a huge arc and it slightly melted part of the battery terminal (and my underwear also filled with melted poop).

Is there a... Safe way to connect this? Negative Wire first? Or just get it bolted on asap?

Positive always goes on first and then you put the negative on. If you do this it shouldn't spark all that much if any, just push it down and dont worry about it.

No draw. It's been disconnected for 2-3 months.

Now that I think of it, my dash is gutted. I better put that back together so I don't short something out.

So what you are saying is that you put the positive on, then when you were going to put the negative on and it sparked and you got so scared that you sh** yourself... I think you just need to nut up and realize that it is going to make a spark or two haha, wear rubber gloves if it scares you that much but you should not have any issues reconnecting a battery

You had a large draw. Door open, most of the dash apart. Things like that will do it.

I've seen guys weld a wrench to the battery for a moment.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

On my second Optima, installed on a car with no draw. Little to no spark, ever. Definitely not the Optima's fault... though they do ship with a like 16v charge to make sure it starts the first time every time.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.
