I have a 2000 GP GT with the 3800II. Recently I have been hearing a noise from the front end/tranny around 2000-2400 rpm. It usually does it on acceleration and it dogs a bit. It will not downshift as fast when you hammer on it and it is in that range. It has been happening for about 2 months or so but has gotten worse..Its most noticeable when going about 35-40mph and you have to speed up fast. Sounds like a grinding/growling noise and it changes in tone. Background on the car: Bought 3 years ago from GM dealership. 2 weeks after purchase the tranny blew inside the case.. only 1 gear left.. Had it completely rebuilt at a local trans shop by my house(Dealership would not replace because I would not pay the tow bill to have it hauled 60 miles north. They wanted their technician to look at it but wouldn't fork for the bill...). 3k later it had a new tranny. 2 months after that it was smashed into by a texting and driving driver... Would have totaled it if the brand new tranny wasn't put in. Poor lady had to pay to fix my car.. No front end damage occurred during the accident. Have had engine work done since(General things: Valve cover gaskets, seals, top end) as well as left side drive hub and joint. I have no idea what is wrong with it and it is driving my crazy!!
Please HELP!!
