    Hey all,

How is everyone? I am new to the forum here and I just want to say hi and tell you all a little about me. Well... maybe not me but what I am driving
I own 2001 Grand Prix. I love this car. I picked it up at a used car lot in Florida as a necessity and have completely fallen in love with the vehicle. it has been ages since I own a GM. my last one was a Chevy Citation, if you can believe it. Pontiac though has always been my favorite. From the looks of the early Firebirds from the late 60's, I actually enjoyed the sunbird... and more recently before owning my Grand Prix, I used to rent the G6 whenever I can.

I have the car in NY and have had it up here in the northern part of the US through the winter in Connecticut. The car has never let me down... KNOCK ON WOOD.. And I don't think it will. It held together for me till I had enough money put together to change the Tranny (which I don't think ever got serviced). I can't say enough about it. It rides great has all the power I need (I would love the Supercharger thought ). Anyway. I will be filling out profile more and adding pictures of the beautiful Grand Prix I own.

I need to change the front bearing hub. I am going to do both sides, just to be on the safe side. There are apparently 2 types of bearings for this car. Ones with a plastic clip and ones with a metal clip... Are they interchangeable? So, there is my question. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks ,

    Tim

wow Tim.. no idea how your first post slipped past all of us. Typically someone hits them all.

The clip type is usually year specific. Meaning your year should only have one. unless you are a change over year. In that case turn the wheel and take a look at how the connector at the back of the wheel for the abs is held to the backing plate. If it is a push in plastic piece, that is the plastic, if it has a metal piece that clips onto the backing plate, that's the metal.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
