Thread: HELP please..Question regarding hub bearings

Thats not a typical sign of a bad wheel bearing. Having experienced that vibration at those speeds I can tell you that it is likely one of the axle shafts. I had two 4-wheel alignments done and then also was told it was a bad wheel. I replaced the inner and outer tie rods, replaced the transmission mount, lower and upper motor mounts and the ball joints.

Ultimately it was finally fixed by replacing the CV/axle shafts. I dont know which it was as I replaced them both at the same time.

Axle shaft, most likely one of the inner (tripot) joints. Mine was the passenger side, but I replaced both anyway.

Bearings are easy to check. Jack up the suspect wheel, put hands at 12 and 6 position and try to twist the wheel in and out from the top and bottom. If you feel ANY losseness or hear noise then your bearing is toast.

When mine went I could hear a roar from the offending wheel, kinda like if you had snow tires on during summer. Its pitch would change depending on wheel speed and I could hear it through all speeds.

Noise during certain speed bands is usually a drive shaft CV joint.
