take that paint job money and put it towards a porter cable buffer. the body dont look bad at all, a good buffing will make it look like a new car.

and i vote craigslist wheels, or painting them. but those wheels look to be a pain to keep clean looking.

check the trans fluid too, ask if its ever been serviced in any way shape or form?

i got my 98 with 212 on the clock, the trans let go 5 thousand miles later. ( never slipped, just lost 3 rd gear) it had dark stinky fluid so i knew it was a matter of time. i got the car for 800 knowing it needed a lot of work.

and taking the car to a garage for a inspection can be a great bargaining tool. if it needs a lot of stuff even the owner didn't know about, its leverage for a price drop. they wanted 1800 i think for my car, i got them down to 800, first offer was 500 lol he came out with my boss says no lower then 900 i was like 800 or you can keep it lol i had a 2500 dollar list of shop price repairs to be done, lots of leverage.
