KBB says retail on that car is over $8,000. Private party is $6,700. If it is truly clean and you really like it, $4,800 seems more than fair so go for it.
Even NADA has trade in on the car at around 5 grand. $4800 sounds about what your dealership paid for it to make their deal on whatever car was sold.
People can be a little out of touch on what stuff is actually worth.
Thanks everyone. Really on the fence on this one. Would be nice to have a cruiser like the gtp with potential. I figured if anything I might tune it a lil with HP Tuners, MAYBE throw an intake on it or at least a drop in filter. Clean it up and roll with it.
Course I said the same thing with all the cars Ive owned.
I know for a fact that they have 4900.00 in it. So I get it for that.
Thanks for the welcome all!
It's the exhaust side you really have to worry about, not the intake side...it's all for noise for the most part. Gotta love the blower whine though, it's quite a bit different than the M62.
If you plan on DD'ing the thing, just plan on a 3" catted downpipe...or catless if you can get away with it. Leave the catback alone...it's not restrictive. The factory front manifold, downpipe, and the u-bend are the parts that need to be addressed.
Yeah, you can gut the factory air box so you get flow to the panel filter.
The actual restriction is the accordian tube from the airbox to the TB, not the box itself. K&N/Spectre/AMSOil Dry-flow...all those drop-in's would work just fine. I'd also recommend a PowerLog front manny too. Super easy install, and gets rid of that awfully cast piece...
ZZPerformance - 304 Stainless Power Log #ZZ-304PLOG
A bonnie guy tested that. Accordian didnt affect anything.
