I'd probably opt to skip the cam and valvetrain components. I can't have a lopey idle, wife wouldn't like it. Are you saying that 13's cant be obtained without a cam though?
Where in MI are you I'm halfway between cleveland and columbus. Do you work on your car? I'm done with manual labor on vehicles. I had nitrous on my prelude, after having a brain fart and spraying to long I popped the piston ring out of the groove and melted itself to itself lol. I sleeved the block with ductile sleeves forged pistons and rods and it never ran right. After pulling the engine 2 times I finally broke down and bought a stock type sh engine with 7 thousand miles on it and called it a day on that car. It did run 13.50's with just a 75 shot though.
Seems when I mess with engines and internals I ruin them lol.[/QUOTE]
Oh 13's are easily in reach with less than a grand. LOW 13's - High 12's... not so much (at least without spray). I have a VS cam, and its quite possibly the smallest gtp cam worth buying. I got it because I didn't want acrazy lopey idle, and its realy easy on the internals. You cant tell it's cammed from inside the car.
Anyway, I do a lot of my work myself, but I had the cam put in at big worms performance shop. He's a f^cking beast and he damn near works on these cars for fun. Guy gives great deals. I don't know what my 1/4 mile is, but I can beat a modded 07 mustang GT by a length and a half that has ran a 13.3 in street trim. I spent 1100 dollars in engine mods. He put my cam and in in about 8 hours and tund the car to perfection. I removed my resonator and put in 2.5 inch piping. the 3 inch welded up nicely to the pipe, and the pipe welded to the stock Y. All the clamps sealed up great so far.
