trying to find answer to my dilemma. was riding down the road and service vehicle soon light came on along with change oil. Changed oil and reset oil light. Now I start car and sometimes everything is fine, sometimes no daytime running lights. (been going on for a week). SVS light comes on and now have no DRL's, no power to windows, and no power to AC system. I will be riding down the road and all of a sudden everything works. Turn car off and when restart, same problem, no lights, window power, or blower power. Also sometimes when start car, no dash panel lights come on for a few seconds, then they appear and go off but service vehicle soon light stays on. Took it to autozone and no codes show up. Any suggestions or help would be very much appreciated.

Check alternator. Also if you have any aftermarket stereo, speakers, or subs hooked up make sure none of the wires have any coating rubbed off, that can cause a short through out the car.

It just sounds like a short somewhere. Don't make the wrong mistake and fix everything cause your going to put yourself in a big money problem. Best bet is to take it to a small car shop and ask them first. More than likely they wont rip you a new one.

^ x2 on the short issue, and unfortunately; electrical system gremlins are not easy to find. I would have a shop take a close look inside the steering column (you could do this yourself, too) and make certain that there aren't any wires that have been rubbed bare or crimped from the tilting of the steering wheel. Also - take a look at your fuse box under the hood - make sure that the nut at the top is tight and not corroded. Also check your battery connections for corrosion/tightness.

    HTH, best of luck

this is for anyone else that has had this problem. You won't believe what this turned out to be. After much debate of what to do, (have dealer put on computer and spend $85.00 or take a chance and start replacing things). I was driving down the road, hit a pothole and lost all power. Luckily car restarted and made it home. Did a lot of research of what powers all the items that were lost, decided to replace just the ignition switch and keeping the older lock assembly. Also kept the battery hooked up while replacing the part. It was a bear to get to, especially if you have big hands. Got it back together, turned the switch, and voila!!! Car starts right up and power to everything. Been driving it for four days now and no problems. Hope this helps anyone that has run into this situation and thanks to those that replied to try help out. (I swear this car is possessed)
