Hello, i'm having issues with my current control panel for my ac/heat on my 2003 3.1L grand prix. I have the dual climate control panel. What i'm wondering is if I could use a single climate control panel instead of the dual.. Apparently they have the same pin configurations and one fella on youtube was thinking about trying it, but for whatever reason ended up not doing so. Anyone ever do this? The dual climate controls are just stupid expensive ($250 usually for new). But the single climate control versions are alot cheaper and more plentiful. I'm assuming it will just control both actuators when you select the temp on the panel..

For any wondering, the issue my current panel has is the vent directional toggle seems to be worn out. It feels lose and doesn't really move the direction of airflow when you adjust.. You have to just pray when you change it around that it works...

    See my reply to http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...nterchangeable.

Basically, I'm almost sure that the position signals are reversed between the LH and RH actuators, therefore, without inverting the signals (aka if you just spliced the signal wires together etc.), you would have reversed Hot and Cold on the driver's and passenger's side.

Perhaps a voltage inverter would work, but without knowing exactly how the blend doors work, it's hard to say.

As far as I can tell, the single hvac units only have one big blend door and one RH actuator.

Basically, I would find a junkyard near you, or PM me since they are stupid plentiful near me (seriously), and I have a working one lying around!

But it SHOULD be theoretically possible. Hope this helps.
