Galvanic corrosion can be a problem between those areas. I haven't seen it happen yet on the aluminum coolant elbows and intake manifold, but I've seen it between other areas on the engine. The gm plastic elbows are plenty strong and avoid this issue. 20 years after production, I still see cars running original elbows.

sc oil, you need 2, 4 oz bottles, it will take almost all of it. and a way to get the old oil out, like syringe or a spray bottle with the end cut off, then you spray it out into the spray guns bottle. like old windex bottle and its spray gun top.
You got a problem with me?

only that a lot of your opinions dont hold water as of late. like whats wrong with the metal elbows now? same thing thats wrong with headers? aka they do nothing?

Care to show proof that my opinions don't hold water? I've asked before, but I've yet to see any proof.

cause your running e85, thats the only reason you can drop pulleys with stock manifolds, you know that, so stop telling people its ok to just drop em when you know you cant, unless you can tune it to run at 9 degrees timing, and most cant. dummys read that crap and think its fine and we all know its not fine by a long shot.

Can I tell them to address the real problem? Or take the scott method and keep throwing bandaids on it?

back on topic wtf's wrong with them metal elbows? do tell. cause mine came back out with no issues went back in with new o ring's and was reused when i did my ic install.

i know first hand most of the time your not re using a old plastic pos elbow. nice and brittle and they like to break on the way out, dont they?

The problem is the heat the m90 creates. But, I've said this already many times. Headers do almost nothing to lower the heat.

I already posted the problem with them.

I think I've only ever broken one plastic elbow ever.

I would replace your thermostat and gasket while you're doing a coolant flush, very cheap items. What I like to do, remove my thermostat and take off the old gasket and place it back in the housing and bolt back down. This way I can flush the system without fulling warming the system, goes a lot quicker. However many flushes of distilled water it takes to run clean. Then install the new stuff & bleed. Heck your could even replace your Tensioner while you're messing with the coolant and elbows as mentioned above. Although most people don't, they should be replaced with your belt. Advance Auto sells the Litens brand, which is the OE for the GP.

I would also recommend using the Goodyear Gatorback belt, which was renamed/bought and is now the Continental Quiet belt. I get mine on ebay for cheap. The catalog is on continental-elite.com. My stock '08 GP NA 3.8L is P#4060905 for the belt.

What does the heat off the m90 have to do with the coolant elbows?
