Hey all, my name is David and after many years decided to purchase another Grand Prix. I have owned an 06 Base, an 04 Comp G and now a built 99 GTP sedan. Long time lurker here and was fairly active on GPONA (which no longer seems to be around?). Currently daily drive a lifted/leveled '15 Ram 1500 on 35's and decided I wanted something more practical for my daily commuting. So being the way I am and instead of getting a beater honda that gets 80 miles to the gallon, decided to pick up a 2 owner cammed, inter-cooled and everything in between beast of a GTP.

Picked it up for $1750 with 160k miles (paper work indicates motor was rebuilt @ 96k and trans was rebuilt/regeared at some time as well) and based off of receipts (which all has yet to be confirmed and may need some help in that department) has more than $20k into this car since 2002. It does however need a little bit of work but nothing I am not capable of doing myself (suspension rattles and trans cooler line leaks). Looking forward to digging into the wealth of info here as well as the mystery as to what all has been done to this car in the past.

looks like fun, I bet that thing is a tire roaster.are those gtx wheels? I would be curious if the pcv is functional on the intercooler, and if it is, why the valve cover breather is installed.

I know all about digging into the mystery of past work done... Lol

Looks pretty good for a sub-2k car, I'd double check the rust situation.

Any ideas on how to check if the PCV is functional, hell even the intercooler for that matter? I have read that the IC pumps tend to go out...I have only had the car for 2 days so far so still need to do a once over on everything most of which I not super familiar with as far as the mods go (I bought hastily after looking under the hood figuring, worst case scenario I part out the car and make money on the deal as it has quite the stereo system in it as well that wont get used often as I listen to mainly sports radio). My Comp G only had an intake, front PLOG and catless DP...everything else was just trying to keep up with maintenance and OEM replacement parts that kept failing.

Also the wheels are 19" Centerline RPM II's which I will most likely be getting rid of as the tires are shot and I'm not much for larger wheels. Hoping can sell or trade them for stockers and maybe even profit some in the deal.

Its going to be a fun time for sure and yes figured the price was right even with the miles. I did not notice any rust at first glance, the car from what I can tell spend most of its life here in CO and was garaged in the winter according to the previous owner who had it since 2006. The original owner seemed to also dump a ton of money into it so would be surprised if it got driven in the winter here at all let alone stored outside or driven in the rain on the account of the ram air hood (if they were smart). Thats not to say there isnt rust somewhere though, I didnt look over it all that well initially and will found out when I have more time.

    Welcome David!

Looks like the previous owner hooked the car up nicely, other than the MSD coils. I feel like I've seen that car somewhere before, maybe CGP?

Thank you and yes I will have a set of stock coils on hand if the msd's bite the dust. But figure i will run them until they fail as i doubt i could sell them with there know issues. I will have to do some lurking on cgp to see if i can find out more about the car if it has been show cased over there.
