Hi everyone! My name is Mike and I live down in southeast PA. I own a few cars, it's been a hobby of mine for a long time. I'm a moderator over at the MonteCarloForum.

I own: 2000 Monte Carlo SS, 2013 Camaro 1LS, 2007 Impala LT, 1968 Camaro SS.

My pride and joy is the Monte Carlo (and people say I'm stupid for it). It's a one-owner, custom ordered, Monte that I've taken care of since the odometer has said 3 miles. The reason that it was custom ordered, was because you didn't see them in the showrooms in early 2000, and you couldn't get an SS without a sunroof because it was standard, but not wanting a sunroof, I ordered my SS without it.

Currently it has 197,000 miles. I have a Paxton Novi 1k CSC kit on it, ZZP HVTB, HV3, ER rockers, Plog, Downpipe, GMPP Cat-back, Eagle 077s, Painted bottom trim, roof rails, LED tails, and a bunch of little stuff that I changed out (things like contrasting side emblems, 06 SS spoiler, bowtie headrests, etc). It's been a project car for the past 5 years, and it's still not running 100%, but I love this car.

The Impala is just your basic run-of-the-mill Imp. 3.5L, stock. It's my wife's car, and I just keep it well maintained.

My 2013 Camaro is my daily driver. It's an inferno orange metallic with matte black stripes, 1LS (LFX v6 with 6-speed manual), Posi rear, cold air inductions CAI, ported TB, catch-can, and ZL1 chrome replica rims.

The 1968 Camaro is a red metallic, 350/3 speed auto, cowl hood, 10-bolt posi rear, HEI, edelbrock 1406, headers, alum radiator, torq thrust rims, bunch of chromed pieces.

there are at least 5 different types of superchargers, positive displacement and centrifugal are probably the most common. I wrote a paper on turbo's and superchargers for a class last year and I'm starting to forget stuff from that paper. the centrifugal supercharger combines the weaknesses of the turbo and supercharger, although one could argue those weaknesses are strengths with ease. the centrifugal supercharger works like a turbo, but instead of exhaust driven it is a belt. it has the typical turbo lag, but is by far the most efficient supercharger available. if I remember correctly, the novi 1000 adds about 100 hp.

Chibi, your question on HP Tuners forum and the resulting answer helped me get my 3.2 tuning worked out. I was having a hard time with my kr and timing advance graphs, but got it figured out when I saw your question and the answer. Welcome to the forum. I get crap for all the money I've put into my grand prix too, but I like it, and can drive it year round, so who really cares.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and the discussion

I kind of took that turbo question as a joke, because it honestly does happen all of the time, but yes, as others have stated it's a remote mount supercharger.

I always wanted to do this build, and got very lucky finding and piecing together the parts for it. Although it has honestly been a nightmare and overall cost more than a brand new ZZP Z7 which I was just going to purchase...

Here's hoping I get the extra side money and get more parts going into the Monte so that I can fully enjoy it. Looking to learn a bunch about tuning and learning more about these W-bodies.

At about 145k the trans went, and I just dropped a junk yard one in that had 70k miles. When this one goes, I'll see about getting Dave at TEP to build me one.
