It means that 55w bulbs get hot, and some have melted their headlight housings; our housings are very small.

Got it. I'm reading that some 55w ballasts only put out 40w or 45w, so sounds like those who have melted housings have ballasts that put out a true 55w? Some may be lucky because even though the ballast is marked 55w, it's putting out less and therefore not melting the housing....but sounds like 35w is the safe way to go.

Yeah I'm waiting on the morimoto kit to come in Stock. Gonna take my sweet time. I'd like to add another set of halo rings just for looks but haven't looked up how to yet. Was quoted 600-715 from classy, can't justify spending that much on headlights, like to do things myself n learn too. Any links to adding additional halo and demon eye mod? Thanks

Yeah, can't justify spending nearly the price of these old cars on a new set of headlights. Anyone who is trying this out themselves mind loading some pictures and tips?

To some, it is harder than it looks.

For that price, you had all the bells and whistles; his lights start @ $400.

Start @ 400 without color to them, I'll be in them less then 400 and have the look and demon eyes for less then the 715 quote (demon eyes, painted housings, corners) was the high end quote. Not knocking his work at all, just can't justify spending near 700 for 2 lights... That's all

Has anyone used the acme h1 kit? Its a lot cheaper then the morimoto it's got good reviews and it's the only other brand that rfs sells so I'm assuming it's still pretty good.

I planned on doing the work but just to buy the mishimoto kit is 270$

What setup did you go with and where do you get the parts?
