Link for this retro for the spyders?

Dont know how to post a link, not great with computers yet. Its on the TRS website, look under Complete retro kits, scroll down a ways and it will be a quik retro for the Spyder/Spec-d Housings. Basically it is the H1s, the have just made an adapter bracket for the housings to where you can remove Spyder Projectors and replace with the Mini H1s. basically same kit that we have discussed here for retro on the OEM Housing, just made specific for the Aftermarket Headlight housings. Hopefully that answered your question.
Dirt DOG i HEAR YA, Like i said didn't really know before I started diggin, but was just curious although I figured I already knew the answer. LOL. I want to go OEM, just for the fact I haven't seen it a lot out there, plus still looks factory, and not to mention ALL the Spyder and AM kits i see out there. just don't wanna be just like everyone else ya know.
IDK If I did this right, but this is the address, just copied straight from my address bar.

Actually those may not be that bad....I was thinking of something else made by spyder
No, would just basically still buy a Spyder set of Projector light housings and the retro kit, junk out the Spyder Projectors and reinstall with the MM minis. Soooo now you can see why I was curious for opinions on going that way with just their housings. Obviously once I learned about the retro way, never would have considered actually using the Spyder components besides the housing at this point.
Yea let me know, TRS also has a short video on there Install guides on that specific retro, may watch it also, basically still have to split the light housing, but instead of fab mods, its just basically a remove old and bolt on new with adapter plates, let me know. thanks.
Have a link for that? I've had a spyder housing apart but it was a looong time ago. Surely it won't be GP specific but a general idea helps.

Not sure if it will help, no not GP specific, actually looks like a ford f150 assembly the are working on, but maybe it will help ya. its pretty short. Its pretty much just H1 and Spyder retro specific.
Yea looks like an F150 capsule. Looks simple enough. I'm just trying to remember how the GP spyder capsule is. I reaalllyy want to say that black plastic piece that has the halos on them is one big piece and it just comes right out and gives access to the screws for the lense side of the projector. I know the bowl can be pulled off easily without taking anything apart.
So in your opinion, is it still worth the hassle and time to fab an OEM housing and go that route, or would it be just as well to go this route with the H1 retro? Obviously be a lil more expensive having to buy the housings from them instead of OEM housings, but seems that you wouldnt have to worry as much about alignment issues since would be mounted to brackets instead of a mono threaded nck sticking out the back. One concern of mine with OEMs is the fact that over time, the fitting could come loose and the projector would spin within the housing causing alignment to be off. And that stuff would absolutely drive me crazy, im kinda a perfectionist and always want things to work the way they are supposed to without fault, which is sometimes unavoidable. I like the way the OEMs look over the Spyders, hence one unit, but like the Halos better in the Spyders, hence i can get CCFL, but dont like the fact that CCFLs only come in one color i believe. Damned if I do, Damned if I dont, lol
Honestly. IMO you're still better off with an OEM style housing. The spyder brackets suck and break. The lenses like to fog up. Although that might be fixed during a retro. Anyway. Who knows how long the CCFL or LED's will last. Aiming them isn't really a big deal. You can change the angle of the cutoff even after you're done by turning the threaded part of the projector that stick out the back. Kind of difficult but it can be done.
Yea I do agree with ya 4thgen, I actually ordered my H1 retros and a new pair of factory Housings yesterday. So guess my mind is made up of which way to go. I know this is kinda off topic, but do you have any recommendations on a brand of LED tails?
Spyder's taillights are pretty nice.
Lets not clutter up the thread. Make a new thread for that topic. Although I do have the spyders and don't have any complaints.
When resealing I know it was advised to use RTV, but I was just curious if one had access to Butyl if that wouldn't be preferred??
Butyl is good, that's what I use. Trs has it and even autozone has some.
