Re: Water in floorboard (Take 2) - The Permanent Fix
I pulled my passenger side carpet back and saw the water. I dried it out and will look for the leak more this weekend.
There is a plug in the middle of the floor area.Is this made so water can drain through it, doesn't look like it ?
Also noticed a square black patch like substance on the edge by the molding. I wonder if someone had already tried to seal something ?
Re: Water in floorboard (Take 2) - The Permanent Fix
you can take that plug out to drain the water on the floor.
prop the rug up and point a fan at it after you get as much water out of it. baking soda will also help kill any odors. the fan will speed up the drying time big time.
Re: Water in floorboard (Take 2) - The Permanent Fix
I am going to get it dry and then hose it down looking for leak. Maybe I will try your plastic bag trick,

I don't know how much the dealer charges, but there's some on ebay. This one's $8.36

Re: Water in floorboard (Take 2) - The Permanent Fix
saw that one looking at it right now but when enter in vechile said won't fit so curious as to is it the same thing?
Re: Water in floorboard (Take 2) - The Permanent Fix
It's the same part number. It's up to the ebay user to properly set the vehicles compatible, he may not have entered every possible car.
Re: Water in floorboard (Take 2) - The Permanent Fix

Can anyone tell me if this is the fix for a 2007 GP also? I have nothing other than the buckled cowl between the cabin filter and windshield. Literally water pours under the buckled cowl right into the filter, through the motor, carpet. Just want to make sure I'm ordering a part that will fit. Thanks in advance.

Re: Water in floorboard (Take 2) - The Permanent Fix
I installed one using the pictures as a guide (thanks Abrasive) on my 2001 GP GT and it installed perfectly. The Dealer was surprised at the low cost and double checked to make sure. He commented he should put a slip in every heater motor they sell and look like a hero for a change :). I had replaced the heater motor about soon after purchasing the car in November 2011 and addressed the loose molding issues but this was a far better idea (surprisingly it came from GM themselves-must have felt guilty or something).
Re: Water in floorboard (Take 2) - The Permanent Fix
It is kinda weird how many different dealers in different states do not know the part exists. If more did, and find out how good it works, the price will probably go to $20.
Re: Water in floorboard (Take 2) - The Permanent Fix
just picked up the part for $5 now to put it in... hopefully the wiper arms come off easily worried about that
Re: Water in floorboard (Take 2) - The Permanent Fix
Wiper arms do not need to be removed as stated in the OP. Just keep them in the up position.
Re: Water in floorboard (Take 2) - The Permanent Fix
Finally got those stupid plastic screws off... got in there and my rubber piece isn't even attached.....
Re: Water in floorboard (Take 2) - The Permanent Fix
That cowl piece you literally just break off if you have it, pretty sure you will
Re: Water in floorboard (Take 2) - The Permanent Fix
I've done every single fix there is for water and I still get it irregularly. I'm at a loss for what the fack it could still be.

Yep, same here. keep a bucket under the leak area. Easy to see where it comes from inside, can't find where it's coming from outside.
