Well, my procrastinating ass finally got around to installing these things. Took longer than expected due to rusted nuts/bolts and getting the crossover lined up.

Only thing is I forgot to reinstall the trans dipstick tube. Will I need to remove the crossover to bolt it back in or is there enough room to get the bolt in there? I would have checked today but I ran out of daylight and patience.

you can put it back in headers in. your not supposed to take it out tho. it makes a nice mass when pulled out when the tranny has fluid in it.

98 Buick Regal GS, F body brakes, Caddy STS wheels, tinted tails L36 bottom end, lightly ported heads, 1.95 roller rockers, headers, gen 5 N* 3.0 pulley, FSIC, 42 lb injectors, a BrandonHall rebuilt trans, DHP tuned and AEM water/Meth injection https://goo.gl/gpV5kW

Yeah I pulled it, walked into the garage to clean it and then heard it pissing fluid on the ground lol.

I took it out to bend it. When I put the rear header in, the dipstick tube was right in the way of where the crossover had to go.

not sure your year, but you may need a older style tube. my 98 tube was just resting on the cross over. i bent it in the car off the pipe just a bit.

looking down the tube from the top.

pass side rear looking to the tube.

Mine is a '97 so I can't go any older lol. I'll try bending it tomorrow (hopefully without kinking).

Btw, I bought that Ebay cat you recommended and used a small section of pipe to couple it with the cat back flange. It worked like a charm.

    97 should work.

i used band clamps at first on the cat. it fit in place of the mid pipe of the dp. when i pulled the engine i got the cat welded in.

I used rtv/torca band clamps and hit them with an impact driver. I'd be surprised if they leak.

Install is complete. That bolt for the trans dipstick was a major pita to get in. Thanks for everyone's help!

I had to bend mine pretty good too. Funny because first time I went to top off my transmission afterwards, I was like wtf. The tube is now directly under the strut tower brace so I have to bend it out whenever I need to top it.

Quick question. I am ordering all my parts including Speed Daddy headers, double wall flex pipe, 3" cat, and band clamps.

Do I need butt or lap band clamps? Do you guys use the straight butt band clamps or the staggered diameter lap band clamps?

    Thanks.
