What's the deal here, is the flex section single wall or double? Or is it double wall but s**t quality?

I went to a local parts store to get a new flex welded in and was told that the one on the headers was a double wall. The brand they carried was Bosal, and he said there's no sense in switching it out since they seem to be the same quality. I'm grateful the guy was honest, but is he right or should I go elsewhere? Or just install as is?

It's a single wall, if you can see the weave inside the flex..

A double walled flex looks like this. It has a solid "wall" on the inside.

That's what I thought, but this guy was saying that there is two mesh walls, therefore double wall.

He did say if it leaks within the next year I can bring it to him and he'll weld in a new one for $40, so I may just say f**k it and put it in as is lol

The flex is kinda hit or miss on the SD headers, myself and a few others on here ran the stock flex for years without any issues, but then there are people who blew the flex out within the first year or so.

I think I'm gonna take my chances and just put it in.

Check out this great quality crossover they sent me. Think it will seal or am I gonna have to use some RTV?

band clamps seal everything. do the pipes fit together is whats important.

Lol. I just noticed it today and emailed them a couple of minutes ago. Let's see how their customer service is.

I emailed them about getting a replacement downpipe one time, and they never even replied.

Sounds like grounds for a dispute or chargeback if they sent you a defective downpipe and blew you off.

    Response for Speed Daddy

Hello, I'm sorry to hear about your purchase not working out for you. We can accept the return on the item as long as if its in new condition. Usually with any return there's a 20% restocking fee taken out of any return, but I'm willing to waive that fee for you. If you think you can get the item repaired locally we are willing to offer you a partial refund as well to help you cover the costs to get the crossover pipe fixed. If either solutions sound good to you, please let us know in the next message so we can issue you a RMA number and send you the return instructions necessary for your return. If you have further questions or concerns, feel free to ask us and we’ll be happy to assist you.

They didn't send me a defective one I just wanted to see if they would sell a new downpipe section as I hit a pothole and punched a nickle sized hole in the sink trap.

its probably repairable, but why hassle with it. they should have sent a good one in the first place and there would be no issue.

I would use it and take the partial refund imo, That's not gonna cause any seal issues and you wont see it.
