Well, I finally got the HUD wiring in; I wired through the DIC plug for power and ground, the IPC data wire at the "splice block" (where the data wires all meet), and the power point lead & ground, TC feed and illumination. Because my stripper wasn't letting me spread the insulation for a wrap (wrapping the spliced-in wires to the existing ones, in case no one follows how I'm describing it), I had to cut then butt-connect the three ends together. Oh, MAN, I was so nervous!!! But when the lights came on, that was a good sign. The IPC fired right up, too... but I think the HUD is in Stealth Mode: after a few minutes, the IPC lights click off, and I have to use the headlamp switch to reset! But although I couldn't see the projection (since the module was resting on top of the dash) on the windscreen, I did verify that it's working; the motors adjust the mirror, and once I got a good angle on it, I saw the speedometer projecting onto the mirror! (By the way, without HUD and controller plugged in the lights stay on)

It's 4:24 PM, and I finally got the dash out... though I'd prepped it a while back, so the final steps took only a few minutes. Now I have to drill out the three rivets holding the keyless entry module bracket in; no biggie, just gotta wait on the drill to recharge! (By the way, on some thread on removing the column, it said the pinch bolt's nut was 11mm; mine was 15mm)

Well, once I got into reassembly, the conversion went like gangbusters! It took only three hours going from a stripped interior to completion; and the result? Wonderful! As far as it can go without the DIC in, everything on the HUD worked beautifully! Not even a hint of ghosting, either...

What would make a HUD fade in and out? Mine works great sometimes, but then it doesn't seem to want to work at all. I have a 00' GTP.

My HUD has a photosensor to control the lighting; in direct sunlight, it adjusts the HUD's brightness so you can see it better. If it's dimming unusually, it might be worth looking at that sensor... though admittedly 04+ are a different creature from the '97-'03!
