If you put in the shift kit.. it'll take care of the issue to the point that it won't cause further problems in the trans. Essentially..it's masking the problem by shifting a little faster/firmer than stock.

As mentioned, the shift kit is a "band-aid" solution. With that being said, my band-aid has been holding up for 4 years now (daily driving). I didn't do the trans cooler, and I do run warm in the summer (as highs as 208*), so I would recommend doing that too. Doing this will help the trans live a longer life as to high of line pressure is a trans killer.
