    2004 Grand Prix.

I had the radio out, and a bare spot touched a metal screw. I blew the fuse for the 'ign' circuit (so the radio wouldn't come on).

I replaced the fuse, but the radio still won't come on. I poked through the harness with a test light, and the radio will get constant 12V but not the switched 12V.

Besides the fuse, what else could fail in this circuit?

    -Bob C.
p.s. Everything else seems to work fine in the car, including the retained-accessory-power circuit/relay. It's just the switched 12V to the radio that has failed.

I was under the impression that 04+ Prixs used the can bus to turn the radio on. Thats why you need that interface wired in. Or am I crazy?

Just checked. Definitely can bus. The interface watches the can bus and supplies you with a switched source.

Okay - so it sounds like I fried something. The radio used to turn on fine until this happened.

When I installed the stereo, I installed a harness adapter. I'm guessing the module thing in that harness adapter is what got fried then. Does that sound right?

You would have to probe around with a multimeter and see.
