So the other day a friend and fellow GPF member tells me that their car does not wanna shift 2-3 at WOT. Thinking I might have set the shift points higher then he/she wants to let the car rev I tell him/her to bring it out and I will check the tune over.

After looking at the tune I see that the 2-3 WOT shift is set at 82mph and/or 5800 rpm. So I say ok well it should be shifting long before they say it isnt. So I tell them lets go out and hit a 2-3 shift while its hooked to the tuner and we will see whats going on. So out we go to find an empty stretch of road... We find a place that looks good and they get on the car, it revs out hits where it should be shifting and makes the worst sounding noise I have ever heard come from the car in my life... So we pull over and I take a look at the scan log I was taking at the time to see what I missed (since I was watching RPM and vehicle speed) And this is what we saw...

At this point I have NO IDEA is going on. The KR got STUPID high (it was shocking it was there at all seeing as how I had just gotten a text from this individual a few days before telling me that they were KR free from 50-115) and the timing BLEW MY MIND.

I chalked it up to the trans having some serious problems, So I dropped the shift points to 80 mph and 5500 rpm figuring we would make that ***** shift.... And THIS is what happened.

Dont mind the LTFTs or the O2 readings in the second pull, i had reset the fuel trims on a partial write and they still hadnt learned.
My point is that even with the lowered shift points it still blew right through the shift point and made that oh so bad noise again. It has to be something trans related right? Would that cause the timing to shoot THAT high? I am kinda at a loss here.

Wonder just who in the hell that he/she is....

On a more serious note, the pull that was done 65-115 the other day was all in 3rd gear, no shifting. No knock.

Really leaning towards a trans issue as well. Earlier this summer it would run its ass off 2-3 no problem, well considering the trans has been abused. This part of the tune has not been touched since the last known working period of time.

Josh.. post the timing table. Then check the various adder tables.

Timing can't be added by a failing transmission. It's added based on table data.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

That's what I thought also. And I will post the tables when I get home. But all the cells beyond 5k+, none of them are even over 38*.

also.. tweak that TPS.. it's not seeing a full 100% and it should dammit. Brando could use that as a reason why the car is slow.. It has Drunkie disease, can't use 100% throttle.

I would zero out all the timing adder tables and try it again. That is goofy. See if you can figure out what table is jacking it up.
