I've been trying to find a way to make my tinted tails brighter. Been searching day and night on this forum a lot of talk but no how-too guides. Is led the best way to go as far as brightness? Also, if i use leds wont that make them flash weird or through a code or light out or something like that? So what do i have to do? Do I have to install resistors? Will that be safe, wont they got too hot? Cant you modify your flasher module for cheaper and more safely? I want to do this as cheap as possible but have no idea how to do this so if you can help it be very appreciated!

I believe you can just plug these in to the stock socket. Some one correct me if I am wrong. You just have to find the right bulb for the socket.

for LEDs, unless it's prewired in for the car, you have to run a resistor in series with it since the resistance is much lower and youll get hyperflash (really fast blinkers).

I used a modified flasher i purchased from Back in Black. If your comfortable with soldering little itty bitty things, he explains how to modify your own flasher on his website.

You can put led's in your tails no problem, if you don't mod your flasher the tails will blink really fast when you use the blinker. The Led's draw such a small amount of power that your flasher thinks a bulb is out and hyperflashes to let you know a bulb is out. Other than really fast blinkers the leds aren't going to harm anything if you don't mod your flasher.

You can also just get a higher wattage stock bulb. Check out summit they usually have some. It may be a lot easier way to go for you.

Thanks for all the quick replies! I think I'm going to mod my flasher BackinBlack seems to have the mod down, here is his link for it... Hyperflash Mod
He has some cool mods on his site, also.
He says to use a 260k OHM 1/4 Watt resistor or smaller, and solder that in replacement of the factory resistor, then solder in a Jumper wire. I think I can to this it looks easy enough, but has anyone done this before? How do I know if that 260k .25 watt will be okay for the leds I'm going to be using in the tail lights?
I was thinking of just buying some leds bulbs that have 20 to 36 leds on it, think that mod will work or use a different resistor? Thanks for helping me I know I'm a pain.
