    What is the advantage of modified rails when extenders cost way less?

    Extenders are the way to go. Super easy install. Litterally you pop the extenders on, Remove your stock rail studs, Install longer studs, Place 1" spacer on each stud, Bolt rails back on. I highly recommend it.

    Modded rails are needed for a fsic
    98 GTP modded 1.9's, sd headers, 3.4", zzp 1.0 230K miles scrapped.

    Short stack intercooler are 1" thick. 1" fuel injector spacers work for them. Short stack intercooler are about 1/4 of the performance of a full size intercooler.

    Full size intercoolers are 2-1/4" thick and nobody makes a spacer that tall. Modified full rails or new aluminum fuel rails.

    Hey now! The short stack isnt that bad. The temp drop isnt quite as much but they don't heat soak or any other BS people claim.
