So I'm trying to replace the square upper motor mounts on my series II 3800. And let me just say, they're a *****. I've tried twisting, hammering, WD40, cutting, everything and they just won't come out. They refuse to move an inch. They are starting to degrade from what I can only assume is age(11 years 190k miles) and weather(car was kept outside for 10 years). Planning to replace them with some poly motor mounts that I already have and getting those in wont be too big of a problem. But getting these out? It's ridiculous. Any advice on people who have removed them before?

what i did was to put the bolt back through it, then used a box wrench smaller then the nut on the bolt, put the nut on, now the wrench is a bolted on pry bar, i pried on it, and used a screw driver to pull the middle lip out of its grove. once this lump in the middle is out of its grove it comes right out.

Not a bad idea prying it out like that. May try that tomorrow. I have tried multiple twisting and pushing methods to try and get them out and it didn't do anything but prying may work better.

they do suck to get out, if that fails ya remove the whole mount, and do it in a vice.

Might be a good alternative if I can't pry it out.

Prying worked great. Got the old ones out. Do either of you have the intense mounts? They look like they're gonna be a snug fit so I'm just wondering which way the lipped corner of the mount is supposed to face.

Figured it out. Longer lip facing engine, shorter lip facing down. Popped right in. Other than a WAI and exhaust, the poly mounts are hands down the most noticeable mechanical mod I have done. Much better feel when driving, can tell the power is being sent to the wheels much better/quicker, shifts aren't as jarring yet still stiff, and the engine doesn't shake around nearly as much making for a much more enjoyable ride. Feels more powerful and meaner, yet much more comfortable. Great upgrade for a great price and in reality not too much work.

I heard those are good. Pretty similar to Intense's. From what I've heard all of the one piece poly's are pretty good.

Using scotty's prying method I got each one out in about a minute. Actual effort only took about 10-15 seconds. And that must be one nice knife.
