So I bought my rewire and was changing my pump. Found out I had the wrong plug on the pump.

    So my question is...

Is it possible to rewire a fuel pump without buying a rewire kit? Like snip the hot at the plug and splice in a thicker wire and run it to the alt?

You would want to run it from the plug at the pump to the relay in the relay box supplying voltage to the pump

Might be a stupid question, but if he did this wouldn't he need to upgrade the other side of the relay wiring? Whatever is powering the relay will still be the small gauge wire.

You can make your own "harness" yourself just use the bought harness as a guide and make your own plug at the pump?? Time to test your electrical skills

I wired the pump with heavier gauge wiring right to the relay. Which is at the fuse box under the hood.

What year is your car? I've yet to see a plug like that.

Mine is a 97... From what I can gather it is an aftermarket replacement pump.
