i have a 1999 grand prix and my power steering stopped working for whenever i turn left and kinda whines when i turn right. I dont know what the **** is up with it. But it used to whine alot whenever i turned until i added some power steering fluid a couple weeks ago. idk if my pump took a crap or what.

wheres the leak? if its coming from the racks boots, the rack is on its way out.

im a member of the over 200,000 club, and my rack went bad, it didnt leak, but the pump started to whine and it got hard to turn, left was harder then right, soon i had no power at all. and the pump stopped whining.

so i did what any one would do, i changed the pump, and no change, picked up a used rack, swapped it out, turns like butter now.

and if your fluid was low, your leaking it, the power steering dont burn oil like a engine does, it leaked out if its low.

more then likely the rack is crapping out.
