Thread: Left Rear Locks up When in Drive But Not in Reverse. Why?

My sister's old FWD Park Ave did this. Turns out everything on the right side was rusted to all hell. Banging on the drum would free it up for a few minutes, but it'd lock again.

Ended up replacing both rear assemblies with parts for the junkyard and problem solved.

So, check and look for rust, or any visible damage.

If only my car wasn't having hoses for the power steering being replaced....
