ive got these anoying tick coming from what i think is the injectors. its pretty loud but doesent really have metal banging sound. i placed my hand on the valve cover to see if i could feel any hitting/vibrations coming from there but i dident feel anything. also i grabed onto the injectors to see if they were making anykind of vibrations but no they werent.

ive let a few people hear it and they all say it dont sound like lifters hitting, cause the sound does not get louder with the rpms but the ticking does get quicker but not louder with engine speeds.

when driving i can hear it at idle but when im going i never really hear it untill the car is under load, 3rd or 4th gear going up a hill and it dont want to downshift, then the tick gets kinda loud.

with out a tunner and programing it in could i disconect a few injectors at a time to try and narrow down the problem??? i dont think i can.

ive heard of a few people that have this problem but they had 04+. maybe it is just an 04+ injector thing. idk.

i guess time to get some 39# cobra injectors
and when i do my rockers mine as well do new springs, push rods, retainers and locks just to give me peice of mind.

    what do you guys think????

A little shade tree mechanic trick. Get a long screw drive, place the tip on each injector and put your ear on the handle. the injector or possible lifter that is making the nooise will be louder than the rest. You should hear a slight ticking from the injectors through the screw driver because of them cycling, but if one is loud enough for you to hear, it will be unnoticable with the screw driver.

Mine are the same way. When its idling and you open up the hood that noise pretty much drowns everything else out.

HELL YEA!!! that worked great and yes the injectors are making the same ticking noise as what im hearing. i also stuck the screw driver up to EVERYTHING that i could think of and the injectors were the only thing making noise.

also is the supercharger supose to make like a sucking noise at idle?? before i poped my hood i thought it was the intake but i then heard it coming from over by the supercharger. sure enought i stuck the screw driver to it and it was sucking pretty hard. i didnet think it would suck that hard at idle

So it's all your injectors making that noise or were you able to single out one? Are you talking about the sucking noise from the filter or around the s/c itself?

from the supercharger its self. i think its everything sping in there tho because it makes the same sound down the snout and i know its not pulling air over in there. problew just everything sping inside. it sounds like its huffing air tho.

and no all the injectors sound pretty much the same. im pretty postive that is what it is. the injectors were making the noise along with the fuel lines and nothing else was ticking that i could find to touch the screw driver to.

so i would think it has to be the injectors. damn are they anoying tho!!!

OK, I got what your saying. You had the screw driver on the s/c. Yeah, your hearing everything spinning inside. I did that to find out my s/c cuppler had gone bad. My Dodge Ram has some loud @$$ injectors oon it also. I have taken it to the dealer and they have said that once the injectors got broke in, I hear them cycling now because of their size. Only does it when the engine is cold though, stops once warmed up.

Awsome. Do you feel any power lose sense it has started? Wouldn't think it would give you anyproblems if all are making the same amount of noise unless your fuel preasure has dropped. I don't know, just a thought.

idk it was like that the day i got the car. i dident really think much of it then. sometimes i notice it sometimes i dont. today i did and i finally decided to ask about it. it feels like it runs strong tho so i dought it.

how can i mesure fuel pressure?? do i have to just get a gauge and tap it in or do some of the scaners mesure that?

the car feels like it runs great tho so i dought im loseing anything. plus others say they have the same problew. i guess its just an 04+ thing. idk

I would say your fine then. Thought it just started happening recently. I notice it on the dodge more when the weather starts getting colder more than when it's warm out. Might be the same for yours.
