hey guys just bought a 2000 gtp and on my climate control when i turn both pass and drivers side down to 15 the passenger side still blows hot. now i assume that the a/c automatically kicks in when u turn it down to the teens cause there is no a/c button? and then the display reads 12 ext ? what the hell is that? can anyone help me out?

The 12ยบ C is your outside temp, the Digital HVAC always reads the outside temp, if its wrong the sensor may be bad.

Its possible you have a blend door issue and thats cauing 1 side to be hot. And I assume the canada cars have a ECON button instead of the AC button?

Search "blend door issues" at the top.

The search bar is hidden in the black, it should bring you to some threads on what the blend door is and what you can do to see if that is your problem.

sounds like you need a new outside temp sensor and a new pass side blend door actuator. pass side is easy to get to. pull the glove box off, and its to the left.

when you work the tem control up or down you set it to what you like, then 5 seconds later the outside temp shows up. if the outside temp is not right, like way off, the a/c or heat will fail to work correctly.

the blend door actuator, you can take the glove box out, and watch it as you go from hot to cold, and back. there is a part that spins that you can see.

you can also take it off and work it in your hand, just leave it plugged in and work the temp up and down. watch the part that spins, its got lines on it that match up at full range both ways. (key must be turned to run or car running to test)

    heres the write up. http://www.grandprixforums.net/blend...ent-21941.html
