My 2004 Grand Prix auto headlights turn on as if it were dark, in broad daylight. I can turn the switch backwards and cycle them off and then clear the DIC where it tells me it wants the lights on. Is this as simple as the photocell taking a crap? Anything else I should be looking at? I held an LED Maglight against the photocell and still wouldn't turn the lights off.

I looked online for a replacement photocell and couldn't find anything, maybe I was using the wrong termonology in my search. Is this an autoparts store item or a radioshack item? If I understand correctly, this photocell also controls diming the HUD. If I replace the photocell (after tearing the dash apart to get to it), will it screw with my HUD?

    Thanks!

I'm not talking about the DRL's. Its turning on the dash lights and everything on just like it thinks it's dark outside. This is something it just decided to start doing this morning.

Mine will turn on and stay on until it's been in direct sunlight for a few minutes. Every morning I drive to school the sun is already in the sky but my headlights don't turn off until I'm about halfway there, so 5 minutes or so.
