hello, i did a search for this, i found some info, i posted a question in the most helpful thread i found and have not gotten any replies, which brings me to this new thread

im trying to stop my headlights from turning on when the car senses its dark out. ive already disconnected the DRLs by simply unplugging the connector on the DRL diode, but i can not figure out how to disable the auto headlights.

i have looked on backinblackgp.com and am still lost, although that website tells me what to do it doesnt tell me where the DRL module is, it just shows a drawing that its a grey box and has 2 wires coming out of it, which doesnt help me at all

so if someone could tell me exactly where it is and how to get to this "drl module" i would greatly appreciate it. im also wondering if once i find it i can just disconnect the green wires shown on backinblackgp.com, or if i HAVE to do something with the 470ohm resistor.......

DRL control module is under the dash:
    Which black box?

If your car is a 2000 or older, you can simply pull out the DRL fuse to disable both features.

For the auto-lights, you need the resistor. If you disconnect the wires, your DRL module will keep the headlamps on forever...
    The GPs are long gone...

awesome, thanks for the quick reply. my car is a 2001 so ill go have a look.....

once i find it, if i dont want the switch, basically all i have to do is cut those 2 green wires and use the resistor to reconnect them?

also, if i just cut the 2 wires you mention the drl module will keep the headlights on permanently, can i assume it will still do this with the drl diode disconnected??
and exactly what are all the side effects of removing the drl fuse on a 2001?
