Pump Noise on 1999 GTP

I have a 1999 GTP and I've noticed that when I've been driving I'll hear (what I believe to be) pump noise, or something you would expect to hear from a servo. I have no idea what it could be and it happens while stopped, while driving, and no discernible pattern. It will turn on and it would be very hard to capture on video because it's a very subtle noise. If it happens to work later from my phone, I'll post it, however I don't have high hopes for that.

It seems to be coming from the center of the car toward the front...I.E. anything mechanical in the front....

Fuel pump should sound like it's coming from right behind the center of the back seat.

Sarcastically I'll say center of the car toward the front, that's the engine. LOL Hey...you left that door open.

Does the noise change or seem to be different during any driving conditions etc?

It doesn't change during driving conditions. It is a noise that runs in spurts. It also will run for several seconds in 1 second bursts. Not sure how else to describe that lol

this one is from left field, but hows you heat and a/c working?

im thinking that maybe a blend door actuator is stuck on and cranking back and fourth on you maybe, as theres not much that has a electrical whine, aka servo sound up front, the actuators are dead center of the dash.

May also be a evap purge soleniod or idle control.

The a/c works great, haven't tried the heat yet and the idle is fine... Could it be some sort of coolant pump? I have a low coolant light on but figured it to be one of those GM gems. My car stays around 175-180 unless i sit in traffic then it hits 195

You might want to check that coolant level. Most usually describe the sound by low coolant in the heater box as gurgling..but likely it's your noise.

no coolant pumps, only the water pump on the engine.

if the blend door was acting up you have warm or hot air on one side when using the a/c or cold air on one side when using heat.

you temp sounds like its fine. they all go up and down like that. you could have a bad temp sensor for that or the low coolant sensor in the radiator is coated in mud from dex coolant over the years. either way its not good to let that go as those sensors do control your rad fans to some degree.

The climate control seems to work fine, don't think that's the issue.

Yeah I figured the temp was fine but I'll prob need to replace the sensor. Those easy to replace? This is my first go around working on my own car. Took it to people before, but now cash reserves low and need to seek cheaper ways haha.

I've also heard this, it sounds like it's coming from the dash. I though it was a the auto climate mixing servo (just a guess). It sounds like a cycling servo (like the tiny servo on a remote control car). It will cycle about 3-4 times intermittently and then stop. I've always wondered what this was, and I'm just guessing what it is. If that's what he's hearing, I'm pretty sure it's coming from the dash.

The radiator and overflow are fine, neither seemed low.

That's exactly the sound, I'll have to pay more attention to the climate mix now lol

this is where the temp sensor is.

and the low coolant sensor is in the rad by the cap, under it, i forget witch side its on tho. remove, and clean this one before buying a new one.

Might be worth double checking and finding out that it is full. I've solved a few problems by being a stickler on someone answering the actual question..lol
