It's a 2008 GXP V8. Well, today with a lot more light, I was able to get in there and play around a little bit. It is the bushing that is messed up. The white part in the picture. It is broken on one side, therefore it will come off the small ball really easily. I called the dealership today and they said the shift linkage has two parts, a cable and the end part that connects to the transmission?? I'm pretty sure all I need is the end part that connects but not sure now if the inside white part comes out (it appears as if it might) or which part exactly he was talking about. Whichever "end" part he was talking about, he said it was $50. I tried taking out the whole cable out by but it's connected at an angle and don't want to take things off to that so I just stopped playing with it.
