Just curious as to how much more supportive those things are.

If theyre only marginally better i dont see them being worth the investment to me.

Very annoying to slide out of the seat with the slightest of corners.

Seems any modern car has better seats than 97-03 grand prixs.

Also curious as to the weight difference.

    They are comfy.

But I haven't driven long enough in them to say how much more supportive they are. Or provide any real helpful insight. Somewhat pointless actually.

    They are comfy though

both matt, course i had crappy Se seats in the 99..

but really 04+ are way comfier for long drives etc, and give the illusion of support with the side bolsters.

110% worth it, upgraded to GXP seats the passenger folding all the way down is very useful and they are much more comfy on roadtrips and hold you in better during auto-x. only downside is they are about 12 lbs heavier.

Is there any difference between the seats minus the covers?

In support i mean. I know everyone wants gxp's for the suede but I couldn't be bothered.

I'd prefer cloth as its cooler and cheaper.

They are WAY more bolstered than 97-03 seats...compared to other '04+ seats...then yes, I think they are just suede covered.

Has a more sporty feel as well and the comfort is far superior to the 97-03.

Matt... being that my heritage contained the most comfy/supportive seats ever made. I'll weigh in. The 04+ are so much better than the 97-03, it's not even a consideration. Do it. I would not personally drive a 97-03 based solely on the front seats sucking so badly. However with a seat swap...I would maybe drive one.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
