So moral of the story is, have AAA or a similar service so you don't have to keep all the parts to rebuild your motor in the trunk causing premature wear on suspension, tires, and tranny from all the weight.

After all, if you are driving home at 2 in the morning and drive by a semi that just hit some nuclear radiated super coon that is so big it tears up your hoses, dents your radiator, and put a hole in the pan... we want the tools to repair your car instead of calling AAA or just easing it home... right?

If it does, what are you going to do about it? Do you keep a hose in the car on the odd chance that does happen? No, probably not.

I was saying it would be so much weight on the back end to keep all hoses, pans, gaskets, fittings, etc... plus tools to be safe on the road in case "Mayhem" happens, that it would cause premature damage due to the stress of the parts and tools.

Keeping the basics, wrenchs and ratchet/sockets, pliers, good gloves, etc so you can re-fasten anything that comes loose, or pull the belt to replace/remove a busted pulley isn't a bad idea, but most of the time you just have to deal with it or make the call.

i cant even begin to tell you how many people on the road, and myself I've saved from a tow truck, just because i had some tools with me.

i do plan on lightening my load some, ( i have no where else to keep most of my tools) but will always have some basic tools with me, new car or old.

The Grand Prix breaks down? Why would you need to carry any tools? That's just putting a negative vibe in your car...

    You got boney coons there?

I would take the coon to the grill if need be... I have F bodies though... some stuff you can stop for.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
