A/C Leaking into passenger compartment?

First off I'll post a little backstory in case it trips any red flags.
2000 Grand Prix GT
My blower is only working on 5. Any other setting is the same as 'off'. I'm told this is a bad blower motor resistor. I'm fixing this in the future, it doesn't really bother me now.
Never had any issue with the A/C in the 6 years I've owned the car, never recharged it, never died on me.

Present poblem:
Occasinally I am hearing a squealing whule the A/C runs, hard left banking *seems* to cause it, it usually fades out in 10s or so. Aside from the noise causing me to wonder wtf is going on, I'm not bothered by it.
Yesterday, after running A/C for approx. 20 minutes, there was significant condensation leaking into the passenger compartment, dead center between where your legs go.
On top of this, I notice the driver side vents are not blowing nearly as cold as the passenger side. Driver side seems somewhat cool, but passenger side is nice and chilly.

My best guess(and where I hope you can provide some feedback):
In talking to a few people, they said they had similar issues(with one side blowing cooler than the other) and they fixed it by adding a can of refridgerant(spelling? Lol). The $7 cans, not the "one you use when its completely dead".
Other things suggested for the same issue with blowing cooler on one side is "the flapper is not closing completely". Vague understanding of this.
As far as the condensation coming in, all I have heard is that "[possibly] my heater core is shot".

Thoughts? Similar issues? Any feedback is appreciated, and please keep in mind I have varying levels of understanding of different engine components, so I would appreciate a dumbed down explanation if its not too much trouble. Thanks for reading this.

yes fan only on setting 5 only is the resister.

take your belts off and spin all of your pulleys see if you can find a bad one. your compressor clutch maybe also be on its way out.

warm on the d/s can be low refrigerate or a bad blend door actuator.

the wetness, touch it. is it sticky as it drys? if so its coolant. pull the carpet up and see if you can trace it. if you noticed the wet floor after a good rain it could be the cowl heres a link to that repair....http://www.grandprixforums.net/water...-fix-6961.html

Yup, you did. lol

Moisture on the floor when not sticky is sometimes condensation from the evap core. You'll want to unplug the drain for the heater box. Likely junk got in where the permanant fix sits and has clogged the box drain. I would fix that before looking into why you don't have good ac on the driverside as they may be related. Aka .. the water in the box may be blocking the duct.

My first step is(based on the replies) to unplug the drain from the heater box and check/clean junk that may be blocking it?

Also next time I'm at my parents I will be adding refridgerant because he has all the stuff I need to do this.

I am confused by one thing " take your belts off and spin all of your pulleys see if you can find a bad one. your compressor clutch maybe also be on its way out."

Which issue is this looking to address?

that would be addressing the squealing when banking hard left turns. the clutch goes bad on the a/c and will make a real racket when going bad. dont know what turning has to do with it but squealing is usually the belts for some reason or another. bad pulleys. idlers and tensioners most of the time.

is just one of the most common reasons the pass side floor gets wet.

come to think of it, i had a leak but not so much inside the car, but it was fogging up my wind shield, so i pulled my heater core. yeah thats fun, and it was dry and not leaking, i hooked it up out side the car and ran the hoses to it.

turned out my heater core hose was bad in the end, and leaking into the car a bit, and dripping to the ground, dead center of the car at the fire wall.
