I have a 1999 GT. I have noticed lately that at highway speed there is a slight vibration and also when I apply the brakes anywhere above 50MPH. Also, when the car is sitting still and I turn the steering wheel there is a loud pop that comes from just inside the driver side front wheel. Any thoughts on what this might be?

if it also vibrates on acceleration then its the half axle. but what youre describing is most likely a bad hub.

Agreed, sounds like bad wheel bearing or maybe brakes. The pop is typically a strut mount
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Whats a good way of troubleshooting further to see if it is the hub? Jack it up and see if there is any play when you try moving the tire?

Sounds more like a bearing/hub.... Does it make the sound when ur in reverse and got the wheel turned all the way?

When my front left bearing was going out, i heard a a weird grinding type noise when turning left. Especially when on 1 of those sharp turns thats consistent. Also, do check the bearing by jacking the car up and shaking the tire to see if theres play, spin the tire also. Or take the tire off an spin the hub to see if you can get a closer sound.
