Looking to get ''more'' out of my I/C by upgrading the I/C radiator. I currently have this setup that comes standard with the Stage 2 I/C setup from ZZP-

Radiator 2 is standard for our Stage 2 intercooler kits. It has a 20.6x12.7x1.3” inch core. Overall measurements are 24.25x13x2. It is rated at 65,400 BTU, has a fluid capacity of .37 gallons and a dry weight of 4.25 pounds. This is the minimum size you should consider for a full size intercooler kit.

V.S. Possibly building my own ''Improved'' setup-

    ZZ Performance

    Along with 2 7'' 1100cfm 3 amp fans.

    So what do you think?

Also sent ZZP an email with a cupple questions on this ''New product of their's''.

Hmm that new FMHE from ZZP looks pretty good, I wonder how it compares with the frozenboost heat exchanger.

I like the fact that frozen boost has a drain valve and a temp port. But ZZP's is designed to bolt in wich i like. Dont have the time anymore to do anything custom lol. ZZp's wasent much moreanyway. But the questions that i sent ZZP will help me make up my mind.

I also planned on putting those 2 fans as pullers on the back of the FMHE to make up for any decrease in airflow or lack of cooling when the car is at slow speeds since it would not be in front of the main radiator with the stock fans helping it out.

The new FMHE is directly under the Actual bumper if you look closley you can see it...it is mounted like an air to air intercooler....

As you can see the New designed FMHE is no where near the Stock radiator. Thats why i am adding the fans. And plus even if it was up against the A/C condenser this new FMHE is 2 1/2 inches thick....that means it would have to go through the radiator...ac condenser...then through another 2 1/2 inch radiator....My gues is that that would def hurt performance in the cooling aspect when going less than ......um....probably 50mph....

    Subject: New I/C RadiatorQuestions

    Hello,

I have a cupple questions on your new Intercooler heat exchanger.

1.I have a 1999 pontiac GTP with the stage 2 I/C Along with the GM pump. Wich Heat exchanger option do i choose? The first one on the drop down menu at the top correct?

    2. In this picture here- http://www.zzperformance.com/products_img/895_2.jpg
This is how the install would look on a gp correct? So im guessing that in this location would center the core directly in front of the slot or opening in the bottom of the front bumper? Similar to the cobalt location?

    3. have you guys done any testing on this one compared to your old versions on the difference in the output temp of the water/Antifreeze? improvements?

    Thanks ,

    Parker Tauzier

And this is what i get back.....ZZP Sucks BTW...Seriously how hard is it to answer like 5 questions???????

    .................................................. ............................................

That pic is old, and is a Cobalt. this is what you need.

    My message back to them.

Wow. I could have sworn that i asked you more than one question? How about at least acting like a professional buisness and answering ALL the questions that your customers ask you. I have spent over 10,000 dollars with you guys and don't feel like I am appreciated at all. If you can't personally answer my questions i'll be sure to make a cupple calls to take care of things.

And by the way i think im going to go with the #4 FMHE from zzp. The reason is that it is almost 2 times as big as the one i have,Is being discontienued because of this ''new FMHE'' so it is a little cheaper than normal i think and is the same concept is the one i have now. And i know that works.

They are God's gift to the 3800 and don't need your business.

At least you got an answer. The last question I asked was how thick their new all phenolic IC is, and I never got a reply. You would think, on an $850 IC core, a quick 2.375" or whatever it is, would have been easy. They did answer about the price in a prior email, since at the time it wasn't listed on the website yet. Hit or miss I guess.

This time zoomer responded: Just figured i'd post it up for the hell of it.

    1. you need the 3800 unit for GM pump or rule pump. that way both fittings are on the same side
    2. Similar but on the GP it's a little different because of the hood latch support which we normally drill a hole through for final mounting tab.
    3. We have not done any testing other than fluid capacity. We made them due to customer demand and market changes, then changed the design for cost reasons on our end. We understand the dynamics of intercooling well enough to believe it's a better piece but with sales quadrupling we don't have incentive to do an A/B best until we get our M90 track car back out which won't be til next year.

Yeah lol. Im going to go with the number 4 radiator. It says that you cant run it with a/c because of the size increase but i did the math and with a cupple modifications it should fit snug and tight. Ill post some pics when im done.

All you have to do is notch the rear of the front bumper support to make it work IIRC.

I'm just surprised anyone got a decent answer out of Zooomer. Usually when we E-Mail him something he just simply replies...

    No.

Although sometimes he tends to go out on a limb and reply to us with...

    Yes.
