so im moving to wyoming tomorrow (2 day drive) and just TODAY when i go on the freeway at 65+ mph, an extremely loud extremely irritating noise just pops up. my mechanic drove it and said sounds like something inside the dash, like an accutaor or something.

anyone else have an issue like this? this noise is going to drive me FUKING INSANE having to endure it for 2 1/2 days. i have an ipod w/ headphones to keep my sanity but just wanted to know if anyone might know what the problem is

this noise never comes on while driving on the street, just 65+ mph

A loud noise. Great, that's a lot of clues to go on, we'll get right on top of a definitive answer.

    Whining?
    Whistling?
    Crunching?
    Bubbling?
    Screeching?
    Knocking?
    Grinding?
    Rattling?
    Buzzing?
    Dubstep?

Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.

rattling is the best description with maybe a little grinding

picture something that locks by turning it like a gas cap, now picture the locking mechanism gone and very forcibly turning the knob. the noise also goes away for like a minute then comes back, its kind of intermittent. playing with all of the climate controls had no effect

could it be the blower motor for the heat and a/c? does your pass side floor get wet when it rains? if so that kills the fan bearings.

so maybe the fans spinning just from air flow some how when doing over 60? and its got bad bearings?

    its a odd one.

    vid of said racket?

    so to recap

earlier there was a terrible rattling noise at high speed, the passenger window stopped working, and the perf shift button was sticking

tonight, all of these problems magically vanished like it never happened

so, i give up. the car is haunted and likes to fuk with me. its the only explanation

edit: i also dropped a wrench attachment in the engine under the alternator when i changed my coupler, maybe that attachment got loose into a bad place but then fell out?

High speed rattling... I'd call it a wheel bearing or something else in the suspension.
