The sensor was reading mid 40's on an 80 degree day. So I swapped out the sensor, and after driving around for a few minutes..It came up to 55 degrees. Its still in the upper 70's outside. What gives?

And will this effect the A/C this summer?

warranty it out, and if its still bad, then you got other issues.

Saw similar and dug into the issue on my current crapbox. IIRC 40 something is the default when the sensor takes a dump. If you swapped it out and see just a little different reading, check the wiring. Mine had been abused somehow and moving it fixed the issue temporarily.

It's been two years now.. one of these days I'll pull out a new pigtail and solder. Right...you heard it.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Well, it seems to be working now. If it messes up, I'll inspect the wiring. Thanks.
