So I went out to the car this morning to go to work and when I opened the door the interior lights came on like normal, then I put the key in and turned and nothing happened. Not only that, but the interior lights went off when I turned the key (I still had the door open).

After this I noticed that the under-dash light was flashing, but if I closed the doors and used the remote to lock them, this light went out. As soon as I unlocked and opened the door, this light began flashing again.

My first thought was low/dead battery, so I checked the cables and they were fine. I threw the charger on it and had to bogart the wife's ride to get to work, but just looking for any ideas to check when I get home. I will further explore and test the battery, but outside of that I am not sure what it would be. I noticed that the lock button on the doors would not fully lock/unlock the doors, also seeming to indicate a low battery. I did try the remote and the trunk release worked, but the way it was acting was like there was not enough power. I just found it weird that the interior lights came on like normal, then when I turned the key everything all of a sudden went dead--not even a slow crank, but nothing.

Anyone seen anything like this before?

I would remove both cables and clean the batt. and cable ends, then check your grounds. When I had this happen the pos. cable was slightly corroded. Happened exactly like that. Car drove fine, parked it, went to leave and everything electrical died when I turned the key to leave.

I'd be tempted to blame this on a dirty ground, too. If I remember correctly, when you turn the key, the ground changes from the body to the engine/trans. I think. Squirrels and mice have a habit of chewing through wires to make homes.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

Junk battery indeed. Had a charger on it all day and everything seemed fine when I got home and looked at it, then took the charger off and it fell on it's face again. Just got done changing it out. Maybe it's just me, but it was a real PITA to get the new one back in.

    Thanks for all the input.
