First you need to remove the belt. I find it easier to take the belt off by first removing the coolant reservoir. There are two 10mm nuts holding the reservoir down. Simply remove them and lift up on the reservoir and set it aside. Now that you have more room, take a 15mm wrench or socket on the tensioner and take the belt off.

Disconnect the alternator wire and plug.

Three 15mm bolts holding the alternator in place, remove those. Set alternator aside.

Three 15mm bolts holding the alternator bracket in place. Two are obvious, the other one you cant see but you'll find it.

Once you remove the bolts you can now carefully pull out the coolant elbows and replace with new ones. Heater Hose Fitting | 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 Cylinders 1 3.8L SFI SC OHV | AutoZone.com

Put a small amount of oil or vaseline on the orings before you put the new ones back in. Doesn't hurt to clean up the holes where they go into either.

Put everything back on and be done with it.
