    my car never seems to get warm up like ever. it runs at maybe 165-180 degrees and my heat doesnt work, what does this sound like to you guys? its a 1999 GP GTP

    sounds like its time for a coolant flush, heater core flush and new thermostat.

    That should be plenty warm enough to give you heat I'd say your thermo is prob stuck open though
    98 GTP modded 1.9's, sd headers, 3.4", zzp 1.0 230K miles scrapped.

    if the thermostat was stuck open wouldnt it throw a code?

    I'm not sure i've had cars with the thermostat out and it still didn't throw a code.

    besides the loss of heat is there any downside to the thermostat stuck open?

    a little bit worse gas mileage but not much.

    yeah ive noticed that im getting worse gas millage lately, i figured itd be good for the car though it runs cooler
