Okay, recently my window regulator/motor broke and i had to order a new one. I didnt want my glass to be inside my door so i took it out while i waited for the new regulator to arrive. Now that it has came i installed it, but now i cant get the window back in!! I've gotten it into the door but i cant get it in the tracks at the front and rear of the door!!!!

Any tips for getting this done? I've been trying for 2 hours now and finally had to quit.

    Thanks in advance,
    -Ryan

When I did mine on my 2 door, I had my wife help. She was on the outside of the door, I was on the inside...with the door open and the panel off. I tilted the front of the window down a little, and got the rear corner into the track. Then got the front corner into the track, and tilted the window back straight again, making sure the gasket didn't get caught. Done this a couple times, and works fine.

That just sounds way too easy. I just cant seem to get the window to fit on both tracks and go into the door, but i will definately give it that a try and see how it goes.

It is pretty easy once you figure it out.

The window needs to be down almost all the way into the door. It is much easier to get the window set in the tracks when it is in the door. And again, this is on a 2-door car. I never worked on a 4-dr...

I had it in the door at one time but it seemed impossible to get it on one track once it was on the other. :S Its like some kind of puzzle game.

And btw, mine is also a 2 door

Edit: Tried Zef's strategy and voila, it now works

Just had to have someone hold it while i pushed and pulled it into the tracks. Thanks zef

Hey, anytime. Glad you got it!

And yes, having two people does help. I know I have done it by myself. But it is a pain.

I think Ed charges somewhere in the $40.00 area. Did the cord itself break or did the plastic holder where the chord locks in break. You shouldn't have to buy a whole new motor or regulator if that's the case. Go to the junk yard and pull a cable or the broken plastic piece you need. Will cost you $5.00 and then you can reinstall.

There is a writeup in the how to section which will show you the trick for reinstalling the cable to the regulator. Done it 4 times now on different vehicles and it took me 2 vehicles to figure out the secret. Also if you use the writeup take pictures at each step and send them to the author of the thread to insert into the writeup.
